London Baby!

During Easter holidays we made a trip to England to visit a few friends. Here we are on the P&O Ferry. The kids loved the ferry ride and we had fish and chips for lunch, what else.

Here they are at Tower Bridge. Man did we walk a lot.

Just stopped by to visit the Queen, she wasn't in.

Alyssa and Joséphine found a friend at the Natural History Museum.

Western Party

Patrick just had his 8th birthday on the 12th of April. We threw him a western theme Party. He invited all the kids from his class and we ended up with 22 kids. Some came as cowboys and cowgirls and some as Indians. Here's the whole gang. We got some hay from a local farmer, we made a "Saloon" sign, a cactus, some dynamite cases, got a saddle for the kids to ride and even the skull of a cow. It was lots of fun.

Here's the invitation that we gave to all the kids.

We made a "Mexican" man who had a bit too much to drink. He was put at the entrance of the property.

Here's the saddle that we got. We stuck it on an old dog house, stuck on the kids horse head et voilà.

Here's our sack race, Cowboys vs Indians. Notice the tepee in the background. We also had egg races, lasso the pole and pin the mustache on the cowboy.

The three little rascals. Patrick 8 and Joséphine 2 with auntie Héloïse 9.

Here's the sheriff, keeping an eye on things.

We made a carriage cake, this bandito likes it.

It's the sheriff and the Bandito. We made him some chaps and a vest.

Hockey

For those who didn't know, I like hockey. I play in a club here in Paris called the Coyotes. I'm a left wing on the first line. My jersey is #17.

Merry Christmas

This year's Christmas show was a mix of different songs and dance from the four corners of the world. We had Latin, Celtic, Traditional, Broadway and Classical. Michael and Sophie made the backdrops and we printed them on 2m x 3m plastic canvas. Agnes, Michael and Heidi made all the costumes (one interesting thing to point out is that in the corsets, Michael put some of his old bass strings to use as "bars") Benedicte, Celeste and Angelique did all the choreography and arrangements and Samuel, Monica and Chesco helped with making props and the set-up. The show went very well. Here are just a few photos, more should be on the way soon, and maybe even... a video.

Shine With Joy
Shine with Joy
by G.M.P.Mizrany
Verse 1
May I never swallow back the fear
To show my joy in tears.
May I always feel this high & be this free
May I always be
The way I feel when I’m with you
The way that you made me

Chorus
Shine with Joy that you give me
I try to love you like you first loved me
I try to love you like you love me
Like you first loved me

Verse 2
Let the clouds defile the morning skies,
And sun, forget to rise,
When I wake I cannot shake the butterflies,
I open my eyes,
And feel the rush to look at you,
And make you talk to me.

Bridge
And with your smile to pull me through,
I’ll fight for you,
I’ll fight you because I love you.

Despising the Same
by G.M.P.Mizrany
Verse 1
I lived on a shelf just for my self & I've made merry,
And I have tried to seize the coolest breeze that could me carry.
Compromise had shut my eyes when I thought I was bluffing.
Fool! Instead of folding I was left there holding nothing.
Those that jeered & sneered is what I feared & most respected,
But now I've chosen God, & their applaud I've have rejected.

Chorus
Now I'm despising the shame,
That I receive in His name.
And aye, they call me profane,
I'm called by his name.
We're the same.

Verse 2
I will take this cross unto the lost & I will wear it,
The fire & the frost, I count the cost & I will bear it.
And I will bear the scorn that He has borne so undeserving,
As they call me the bastard of the Master that I'm serving.

Bridge
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep To gain what he cannot lose.
(He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep To gain what he cannot lose.)
I dare to bear the wrath with they Who live to laugh another day.

Latest happenings

On September 1st it was the twins birthday. Here they are.

We sent them out for the day to Paris with James, Dan and DJ. James and Dan (of Spirit Tree) have been at our house for the past week recording thier album, yee haw. And DJ was visiting, what timing...

When they came home we had a nice table set out aperitif, champagne and so on and then a nice Chilean dinner and dessert.

Here are our bevy of beautiful girls. From L to R Celeste, Benedicte, Sophie, Agnes, Monica and Angelique.

Of course we ended with a classic Paris home party. I will say no more and show only this (as to protect the identities of the guilty).

Here's the video we made for Marie-Claire. We want to give a big thank you to Brian. Without him this project would have never gotten off the ground and turned out so well. Also a big thank you to Tino who worked with Brian to mix and finalise it. God Bless you both.

Feel Alive

Last week Brian was at our place for a few days to film a "music video" of our song Feel Alive. For those who don't know, Feel Alive was a song that Michael and David wrote for Marie-Claire (younger sister) who went to be with the Lord on the night before Easter in 2002. She was 13.

It was a good two days of work. In between rain and sun we managed to get it all done, more or less.
Sorry this is the only photo that I have right now from the filming, just Brian and I.

Josephine's Birthday

On the 27th of May it was Josephine's birthday. She turned two and she's 97cm./38in. tall. Benedicte and Agnes made a cake (the best cake makers in the world, by the way). We've been very busy lately and we weren't able to celebrate it on her birthday but we managed a few days later to squeeze it into an hour of our afternoon. It turned out real well, TTL.

The whole home was present to sing Happy Birthday. Josephine had lots of fun but most of all she was excited about being allowed to blow out her candles as many times as she liked. We had strawberry shortcake and ice cream (which she loves), dancing, lots of balloons, music, presents, all in all a very fun birthday.

Loving her ice cream.

Yum, yum.
